 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES
Spring 2018 - Barcelona
Inspired by Barcelona’s visionary architect, Antoni Gaudí, our theme for the Barcelona conference was “Thinking Outside the Box.” To begin the conference, we heard from outside-the-box thinker and “master thief” extraordinaire, Hamish Taylor, who led a rousing and inspiring keynote speech. This was followed by plenary and Specialty Group sessions that explored new and innovative ways to amplify our member firms, disruptive technologies that are impacting professional service firms, and collaborative opportunities for our members.
During our final session on Friday, we challenged our members by way of a collaborative team-building exercise involving the creation of a Gaudí structure made of LEGOs. We were fascinated by the level of engagement from our members and their extraordinary creativity in architectural design. Who knew that lawyers and accountants could be such out-of-the-box thinkers? We thank our host firm in Barcelona, Bufete Escura, for serving as “judges” for the design competition, and for extending their world-class hospitality to our members.
