Dr. Maria Piroi is the founder and CEO of the Group Expert Consulting (Piroi) and the firm's senior statutory auditor. She is registered as a statutory auditor in the ASPAAS Public Electronic Register (reference AF1094) and is a member of the Romanian Chamber of Financial Auditors (CAFR), CECCAR, and the Chamber of Tax Advisors (CCF). She holds a PhD in Accounting from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE).
Over more than 25 years, Maria has led audit, accounting and tax engagements for Romanian companies and for subsidiaries of international groups, across sectors including renewable energy, manufacturing, real estate, and the public and not-for-profit sectors. As a certified financial auditor she has signed off over EUR 1 billion in EU-funded project audits.
Maria is a Visiting Lecturer in Accounting, co-author of the Amazon #1 Bestseller "My Business in Romania", and a Forbes Romania keynote speaker.
