Gert Pruim is a chartered accountant and is the branch manager of the office in Ommen since January 2012. He has a wide range of activities, from discussing financial statements with SME clients to advising these clients on both prudential and fiscal matters. "I notice that I can act as a trustee because of my good contacts and that my clients also ask for advice on personal matters."
In addition, as branch manager, Gert is concerned with assessing assembly work of assistant auditors before that work is discussed with clients. "A lot of variety in my work, but I especially want to be able to offer our customers what they ask for. Obviously within the limits of the law, but as creative as possible. There is much to gain for SMEs, especially in the tax area. Every question is provided with a response as soon as possible. We know the answer ourselves, or we know someone who can help out. Regarless, we solve all problems."
Gert started his education to be a chartered accountant at Nyenrode Business University after completing his studies HEAO Business. "I completed this study in 2011. The theoretical part of the training went smoothly, but the completion of a scientific thesis was 'not my thing'. I'm more of a 'professional' than a scientist." Gert began as a junior assistant accountant and has grown to account manager and branch manager.
"I enjoy the work I do for our clients every day. That's mainly due to the alternation and mutual trust. I respect and admire what my clients build with their company. It's nice that I can support entrepreneurship in my field of expertise. Everybody does what they are best at and that is the key to good collaboration."
