The firm expands its offices and creates new departments
Bufete Escura, with more than a century of existence and activity in Barcelona, has invested 2 million euro to accelerate its growth. The investment, carried out with the purchase of more space for its offices, allows the firm to increase the personnel in each department, as well as to create a new Department, the Department of Urban Planning.
“The professional and legal services sector is concentrating and doing so even faster than the industry – Fernando Escura, Manager Partner of the firm said -. It is like it is polarizing. On one hand, there are the big global companies of professional services, known as the big four, which increase their market share to the detriment of the large national offices. On the other hand, there are the law firms with a good knowledge of the local market, necessary for their proximity to the territory. We are moving forward these directions as well as we are improving our position”.
Escura counts on a team formed by 52 professionals, among lawyers, economists and professional managers. In this team there are seven partners, two of them are capital managers and five of them are shareholders. In 2016 the firm had a turnover of 3.5 million euro. The investment made these last weeks lets Escura to acquire new offices in Barcelona, between the streets Urgell and Paris, as well as to add 700 square meters so to reach 1,400 square meters.
The firm has developed in line with the outlook and philosophy outlined by its managing partner. 80% of its clients are family businesses (much diversified but with a prominent presence in sectors such as the cava). The other 20% are international clients with presence among the territory. In a complementary way, for its international action, the firm is part of the global networks of TAGLaw and Interlegal.
“In the growing of the last years, closing agreements with trade associations has been key”, its Manager Partner added. The firm counts among its clientswith 15 trade associations. Bufete Escura was created in 1905 and received the recognition from Best Lawyers, one of the most prestigious international rankings. The reference guide of USA recognizes, in its 2016 edition, a total of ten lawyers of Bufete Escura for their activity in different Law’sareas.
