Following a career in banking stretching over more than 30 years, I moved into the accountancy sector in 2018. I had the opportunity to be trained by and work for two brilliant banks, both of which placed client relationships at the centre of their operations.
Over this time, I realised how important and pivotal professional relationships are to businesses. For over 90% of my time in banking, I worked in corporate business development. Part of the skill was not only winning new business, but making sure you could match the new client to the person in the business who could best service them and help them achieve their version of success.
Moving into the accountancy sector, I was keen to work in the same way. The service offering is different, but the delivery is the same.
