Kohm, William "Bill"
Bill has over 28 years of experience providing audit and accounting services in various industries, including natural resources, manufacturing, equine, nonprofit, and construction. He has taken on a variety of projects outside the normal audit procedures, including assisting clients with public filings, internal audit, due diligence procedures, IFRS transition, Section 404 internal controls assessments, litigation support, and purchase ac-counting. Additionally, he has been influential in helping clients implement new accounting standards.
Along with providing excellent client service, Bill has trained countless staff and senior auditors with the focus on understanding the risks of the client’s business and identifying process improvement recommendations. He helps lead the firm’s internal audit team with a focus on energy clients.
Industry Expertise
Bill leads the firm’s Natural Resources & Energy Team which consists of approximately 15 professionals. A substantial portion of Bill’s professional career has focused on public and private coal mining clients with a focus on internal and external audits. Due to his extensive experience he has been utilized as an expert witness on several coal matters. Bill has conducted internal and external coal accounting/auditing trainings over the years as well.
Speaking Engagements
Bill has spoken at local, regional, and national events focused on accounting and auditing matters. For the past several years, he has led the firm’s annual accounting update which includes over 400 external participants.
