Ryan Coleman joined Weaver with over 24 years of professional tax experience, including two Big Four firms. He leads the Research and Development Tax Credit service line as part of Weaver’s Specialty Tax Services group. Ryan’s career has focused on federal taxation for companies of all sizes claiming U.S. Federal Research Tax Credits and Incentives, with an additional emphasis on IRS examination defense of the credits and incentives claimed.
Ryan is well versed in the areas of Research Tax Credits and Expenses, Meals and Entertainment Deductions and associated federal & state tax credits, grants, deductions and method changes. His industry experience extends to financial services, technology, including SAAS and internal use software, aerospace and defense, engineering and construction, life science, manufacturing, food and beverage, energy and government contracting.
Ryan is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Bar Association – Tax Section, the Pennsylvania Bar Association – Tax Section and the Philadelphia Bar Association – Tax Section. He graduated from Widener University School of Management with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BS), Widener University School of Law with a Juris Doctor (JD), Widener University School of Business Administration with a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and the Georgetown University Law Center with a Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.).
