John’s practice focuses on appeals, complex civil litigation, and government and regulatory matters. In state and federal court at both the trial and appellate level, John has worked on a wide range of matters involving elections, state and federal constitutional law, property law, statutory interpretation, contract law, and professional liability matters.
In his government and regulatory law practice, John often represents governments and private parties in high-profile disputes. John has successfully represented clients in election matters, including election contests. He also drafts and reviews legislation and ballot measures.
In his appellate practice, John has authored briefs filed in the Arizona Supreme Court, Arizona Court of Appeals, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, California Supreme Court, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. In 2023, Southwest Super Lawyers named John an Appellate “Rising Star.”
John also represents lawyers and law firms in malpractice actions and disciplinary matters.
Before joining Osborn Maledon, John served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mary M. Schroeder of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and a law clerk to the Honorable G. Murray Snow of the U.S. District Court, District of Arizona.
