Dr. Katia Mercieca graduated in laws at the University of Malta in 2003 and obtained her warrant to practice as an advocate in 2004.
She started practice with Farrugia Schembri Orland Law firm in 2004 where she handled mainly private law issues and was actively involved in litigation. In 2009, she became Senior Associate of the newly formed law firm Fenech Farrugia Fiott Legal and was responsible for the firm’s Litigation Department. Dr. Mercieca was elected partner in the litigation department of the firm in the beginning of 2013.
The matters she has litigated range from issues relating to property and construction related disputes, labour law, and various damages claims. She has also vast experience in family law.
Dr. Mercieca is a member of the Board of Examiners of Civil Law at the Faculty of Laws of the University of Malta.
