Barkasy, Richard
Richard (Rich) has substantial experience in a wide variety of complex business and commercial litigation matters, including real estate litigation, such as construction and landlord-tenant disputes. Rich routinely represents clients in the Delaware courts, including corporate litigation matters in the Delaware Chancery Court.
Rich also devotes a substantial portion of his practice to bankruptcy matters. His experience includes representing commercial landlords, real estate lenders, secured and unsecured creditors, official and unofficial committees, debtors and trustees in Chapter 11 cases, and bankruptcy litigation, such as preference and fraudulent conveyance cases. Rich has represented clients in notable bankruptcy proceedings such as General Motors, Chrysler, American Airlines, Boy Scouts of America, Fisker Automotive, Hertz, Coram Healthcare, Hahnemann University Hospital, Mike Tyson, and Enron.
Rich has significant experience in cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters, including representing foreign debtors in obtaining recognition of foreign bankruptcy proceedings under Chapter 15 of the Bankruptcy Code.
Rich has also represented foreign debtors in obtaining recognition of foreign bankruptcy proceedings under Chapter 15 of the Bankruptcy Code.
Rich is an adjunct professor at Rutgers University School of Law, where he has taught courses in Delaware Corporate Litigation, Complex Civil Litigation, Construction Law Bankruptcy, Secured Transactions, Business Organizations, Commercial Law, and Product Liability.
