Alan has a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Master's degree in Revenue Law and Administration from the University of Dar es Salaam. His specialty lies in tax advisory and tax disputes resolution, but he is also a qualified advocate licensed to practice in Tanzanian courts. He was instrumental in the merger and formation of B&E Ako Law, whereby not only does he manage the firm, but he also heads the Tax Department, having garnered experience from working as a Senior Tax Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers for three and a half years and Ako Law in association with Clyde & Co, where he was the Managing Director.
Alan has also co-authored a book titled "Tax Dispute Resolution - Manual for Tax Practitioners" Mkukina Nyota [2015], Dar es Salaam. With more than six years of experience in litigating tax disputes, Alan was awarded the Tax Lawyer of the Year accolade in Tanzania by the 2020 Global Awards.
