Barack Ferrazzano

Sam uses his experience representing parties in complex chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, high-stakes distressed transactions, and related litigation to guide clients through all types of distressed situations by providing practical advice geared toward maximizing value and recoveries.

As an associate in Barack Ferrazzano’s Bankruptcy & Creditor Rights Group, Sam represents secured and unsecured creditors, vendors, landlords, asset purchasers, and other parties in interest in complex bankruptcy and out-of-court restructuring matters across a broad range of industries. 

Before joining Barack Ferrazzano, Sam was an associate at Cooley and, prior to that, at Mayer Brown, where he developed broad experience in restructuring, bankruptcy, and commercial lending matters. Earlier in his career, Sam served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Donald R. Cassling of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois, deepening his understanding of federal bankruptcy practice and procedure.

Sam also has achieved successful outcomes for several clients on a pro bono basis, including securing a grant of asylum for a family from Afghanistan and obtaining a significant settlement for a client who brought a claim for unlawful discrimination under the Illinois Human Rights Act.
