Taylor Lovelace is a civil litigator who defends employers, businesses, and professionals in disputes throughout Oregon and Washington. Their experience includes complex litigation, employment litigation, professional liability litigation, class action matters, employment advice and counsel, and pre-litigation workplace investigations. Taylor joined Black Helterline in 2026 after previously practicing at an AmLaw 100 firm. Prior to their legal career, Taylor was a front-line healthcare worker with experience providing care in assisted living facilities, hospital telemetry units, and inpatient postpartum care. Taylor draws on their experiences working in interdisciplinary teams during high pressure situations to maintain effective, focused communication throughout the litigation process.

Taylor grew up in the Seattle metropolitan area and has lived in Portland since 2018. They current reside in the Mt. Tabor area with their wife and dogs. In their spare time, Taylor enjoys hiking, wilderness backpacking, and floating down the Columbia River in the summer.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Defend employers from claims brought by current or former employees under ORS 659A, the Washington Law Against Discrimination (WLAD), Washington State Equal Pay and Opportunities Act (EPOA), and Title VII.
  • Conduct workplace investigation into allegations involving board members in response to an executive’s complaint.
  • Develop tailored employee‑handbooks, and revisions, that reflect an employer’s industry‑specific risks, culture, and compliance obligations.
