Steffen Paulmann, born in 1973, is a German attorney. He advises business enterprises from French and English speaking countries on German commercial and employment law. 

Typical matters handled by Mr. Paulmann include: 

• drafting and negotiating contracts involving international commercial transactions;
• representing foreign investors in the acquisition of equity participations in Germany;
• legal relationships between companies and their managing directors and managerial employees;
• creating distribution systems with commercial agents and authorized dealers;
• providing extrajudicial advice and conducting litigation concerning all areas of employment law, including advising employers with regard to their interactions with works (employees’) councils;
• advising business enterprises from various branches, particularly business enterprises in the broadcasting and media industries.

Steffen Paulmann studied law at the University of Saarbrücken (Centre Juridique Franco-Allemand) (Germany) and at the University of Paris (D.E.A. Paris II Panthéon-Assas). He obtained a joint doctorate in 2004 from the University of Saarbrücken and the University of Strasbourg III (France), the topic of his doctoral thesis being the validity of contractual limitations of liability in German-French commodity trade. 

Mr. Paulmann is admitted as a German attorney in Frankfurt. He began his career as an attorney in a Hamburg law firm, and beginning in 2005 worked in his own law firm in Saarbrücken before joining GGV in 2008. Until the end of 2009, Mr. Paulmann was a lecturer at the Centre Juridique Franco-Allemand at the University of Saarbrücken.

Mr. Paulmann is a member of GGV's German-French practice group ("Equipe Franco-Allemande").
