Stephen Zralek is an AV-Rated, SuperLawyer who helps individuals and business clients from the technology, creative and entrepreneurial fields resolve disputes through intellectual property (IP) litigation, business litigation and entertainment litigation. His IP cases involve copyrights, trademarks, rights of publicity, trade secrets, non-compete violations, defamation and domain disputes, among other forms of intellectual property. In addition to representing clients from the Nashville area, Stephen is routinely called on by clients, lawyers and in-house counsel from other cities to represent them here or to serve as local counsel in Tennessee state and federal courts.

Stephen has been quoted by USA Today, Managing IP and Young Entrepreneur; featured in the ABA Journal; interviewed by various news channels on copyright and IP issues; and is a frequent author and speaker on copyright law, other IP and social media law. He co-wrote “The Pro-IP Act: Another Weapon Against a Failing Economy,” published by the ABA’s Landslide magazine, as well as “Race is On to Recapture Copyrights,” published by the Tennessean. He previously chaired the American Bar Association Copyright Litigation Committee for the IP Law Section.

Political candidates, office holders and PACs regularly ask Stephen to represent them in election contests, political disputes and campaign finance entanglements. He also helps clients with whistleblower actions, qui tam actions, severance agreements and crisis management issues.

Upon graduating from law school, Stephen served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Thomas A. Wiseman, Jr., of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.

Stephen was born and raised in Nashville. He sits on the board of Children’s House, chairs the board of Conexion Americas and is the past chair of both Nashville for All of Us and Family and Children’s Service. Stephen enjoys snow skiing, tennis and travel. He and his wife, an interior designer, have two children.
