Jonathan has been a commercial mediator for 31 years. His mediation practice has covered a wide variety of areas but in particular he has considerable knowledge of professional negligence disputes, construction disputes, property disputes (particularly those arising out of disputed wills and probate), partnership, employment, financial services, as well as more general commercial, company and contractual matters. This has included, more recently, many mediations conducted online. He has lectured on mediation widely in the UK and in the USA, South Africa and in Estonia. Jonathan used to practice as a solicitor in Oxford and was a partner and Chairman of member firm Blake Lapthorn (now Blake Morgan)and for many years was one of that firm's representatives for TAGLaw. He left private practice to work full time as a commercial mediator in 2012, joining Independent Mediators and is ranked in the top tiers of mediators in the UK. He also became European Liaison for the TAG Alliance for a number of years from 2016, stepping down from that role in 2022.
