5 Nuggets Learned from the Recent AILA Annual Conference

Contact: Ryan, Swanson & Cleveland, PLLC (Washington, USA)

Joel Paget recently attended the American Immigration Lawyer Association's Annual Conference, where he was a speaker on the panel that provided an overview of the terminology, concepts, rules and procedures pertaining to non-immigrant status.

Here are five nuggets of information from the conference we would like to share:

1. The USCIS is using the VIBES program extensively to check on the corporate relationships for employers filing L-1 petitions.  Petitioners should make sure Dun & Bradstreet has current company information before filing an L-1 petition.

2. The Form I-94 is going to be eliminated in the future.  There will be a sticker or stamp to provide the validity date and status category.
