QIL+ 4 Abogados Advised on the Aerometro Project

ADJUDICATION OF PHASE I OF THE AEROMETRO PROJECT – THE CABLEWAY THAT WILL CONNECT THE MUNICIPALITIES OF GUATEMALA AND MIXCO

On November 17, 2020, the Municipality of Guatemala awarded, for a 25-year term, the concession of the phase I of the Aerometro Project to the joint and several group conformed by Cablevía de Guatemala, Sociedad Anónima, Desarrollos Residenciales Victoria, Sociedad Anónima, Desarrollos Torino, Sociedad Anónima, and Doppelmayr Guatemala, Sociedad Anónima.

The development of phase I will represent an investment of approximately Q1,216,450,000, equivalent to an approximate amount of US $152,056,250, and will be composed of the following infrastructure:

Axis number one (I): Trebol – Montúfar This axis will have an extension of approximately 2.1 kilometers. Additionally, it will connect El Trebol, through Boulevard Liberación, until the twelve Street, between the fifth and sixth avenue, of zone 9 of the Municipality of Guatemala.
Axis number two (II): Trébol – Molino de las Flores This axis will have an extension of approximately 6.8 kilometers and will connect El Trebol with a location near Molino las Flores Colony, zone two of the municipality of Mixco. Additionally, two sections will integrate this axis. The first section will have an extension of approximately 4.8 kilometers constructed in the territory that corresponds to the Municipality of Guatemala. The second section will have an extension of approximately 2 kilometers constructed in the territory corresponding to the Municipality of Mixco.
Centra Occidente The offer also provides the construction of Central de Transferencia de Occidente, also called Centra Occidente, located in the Municipality of Mixco, which will allow the connection of the cableway with other modalities of public transportation.
aTransformation of 20,000 square meters of public space. Additionally, the offer also includes the execution of physical improvements near the cableway stations and the transfer center.
