Lugenbuhl’s Joseph Briggett Is New President of Tulane Inn of Court

Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard shareholder Joseph Briggett has been selected to become the new President of The Tulane Law School American Inn of Court for 2022-2023.

The American Inns of Court is a national organization devoted to excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills for practitioners, judges, and professors in order to enhance the quality, availability, and efficiency of justice in the United States. It is adapted from the traditional English legal apprenticeship model, which was designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experience, and to mentor younger members by association with more experienced members.

The Tulane Law School American Inn of Court is a New Orleans-based chapter of the American Inns of Court, building connections with Tulane Law School and the Tulane community. Many leading figures from Tulane Law School have been past members of the Inn, including Fifth Circuit Judge John Minor Wisdom, and Bankruptcy Judge Jerry A. Brown. Every year, second and third year law students from Tulane are invited to apply for admission and attend the Inn's meetings as students, learning about the practice of law with a focus on ethics and professionalism.

Tulane Law School American Inn of Court members must be nominated and invited by the Executive Board for admission. While many members are graduates of Tulane Law School, it is not a requirement.

“Around the time I worked as an extern for Judge Jerry Brown, he was President of the Inn, and he was a big inspiration for me to be involved. So, it is an incredible honor to now serve in that role,” commented Briggett. “I hope to continue the outstanding work my predecessors have done before me.”
