Gecić Law Collaborates with Serbian Chamber of Commerce on IT Startup Guides

Our colleagues and senior associates Nemanja Sladaković and Miloš Petaković presented at the AgTech Supercluster Meet-up event at the ICT Hub yesterday two new publications they helped create as part of Gecić Law’s collaboration on a project led by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and financially supported by the GIZ project for the development of the private sector in Serbia, part of the German-Serbian development cooperation. The two guides provide valuable insights to help startups grow and succeed in the highly competitive IT industry.

The first publication is a practical guide focusing on legal aspects that IT startups need to consider in their early stages of operation. Through real-life examples, the publication provides practical guidance to startups just beginning their operations, wanting to be on top of their business’s most important legal aspects, and protecting their interests when dealing with investors and B2B clients. It covers topics such as contracts, intellectual property protection, tax, and dispute resolution.

The second publication is an in-depth guide to the investment process and how IT startups can secure funding. The guide provides detailed information on different types of investment and other available strategic cooperation options. It also highlights the key factors investors consider when evaluating startups and offers practical examples.

These resources will help many startups navigate the complex legal and investment landscape and contribute to the growth and success of the IT industry in Serbia.

The Serbian Chamber of Commerce has long supported startups and promoted entrepreneurship with commitment and dedication. These guides are an excellent example of its efforts to provide meaningful support to the local IT startup ecosystem.

GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) is a German government service provider in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development and international education work, with a particular focus on economic development and employment promotion projects.

The ICT hub is a dynamic community of Serbia IT startups, entrepreneurs, and innovators. It provides a collaborative space for networking, learning, and growing businesses.
