We are pleased to announce that we have entered into a strategic alliance with Abhilaash Subramaniam & Co. which has expertise in tax and revenue law and environmental law. This is complementary to our existing practice areas, particularly in today’s climate which is driven by ESG concerns and also the new changes in tax laws.
Whilst the two firms shall continue operating as separate entities, we believe that this collaboration will allow us to offer a holistic solution for our corporate clients, as well as give our lawyers crucial exposure in these fields as we branch into these new practice areas.
Throughout his career, Abhilaash Subramaniam has had extensive experience in tax litigation, Judicial Review and out of court settlements with the authorities. He has appeared at all levels of the Malaysian Courts and has been involved in landmark Malaysian cases on tax, legal professional privilege, competition law, data protection, the use of anti-money laundering legislation against taxpayers, ratings by local authorities, and conduct of regulators.
He also advises companies on environmental laws, sustainability and how to improve their ESG practices.
Abhilaash sits on the Malaysian Bar Council for the 2024/2025 term. He is also a member of the Bar Council’s Environment and Climate Change Committee and Corporate and Commercial Law Committee.
