Litigation Group Continues Expansion With Addition of New Associate

BFKN is pleased to announce the addition of Mara Easterbrook Klebaner to the Litigation Group.

Mara focuses her practice on complex commercial disputes, including fraud, breach of contract, false claims/qui tam, shareholder disputes, M&A and indemnification disputes, bankruptcy proceedings, and intellectual property (including trade secrets). She has significant experience managing all stages of litigation, including drafting and responding to initial pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing witnesses for testimony, taking and defending depositions, drafting dispositive motions, and participating in court hearings, oral arguments, arbitrations, and trials.

Prior to joining BFKN, Mara was a Senior Managing Associate in the Litigation group at Sidley Austin and previously practiced at White & Case. She clerked for the Honorable Harry D. Leinenweber of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and began her legal career as a litigation fellow with Impact for Equity, where she worked on landmark civil rights cases, including a federal consent decree to reform the Chicago Police Department.

"We are happy to welcome Mara Klebaner to our impressive group of talented litigators. Mara’s experience gained as a managing associate at Sidley, her federal court clerkship, and her time representing both commercial and pro bono clients in district and appellate courts around the country will make an immediate impact on our busy and exciting practice." — Maile Hitomi Solís, Co-Chair, Litigation Group

Litigation Group
Our firm has assembled a group of highly skilled trial lawyers – seasoned partners and well-trained associates – who represent clients both forcefully and efficiently. Unlike some litigators, who spend years engaging in expensive discovery only to recommend settlement on the eve of trial, we are always ready to try cases when necessary but strive to achieve business resolutions early and economically when appropriate.
