Piper Alderman Advises RJE Global / Lighthouse Industries on Balance of Plant for Waddi Wind Farm in WA

Piper Alderman’s Projects, Infrastructure & Construction team is pleased to have worked with RJE Global and Lighthouse Industries on its balance of plant arrangements for Tilt Renewables’ 108-megawatt Waddi Wind Farm project in Western Australia.

Waddi Wind Farm, located approximately 150 kilometres north of Perth in the state’s Wheatbelt region, was the nation’s first wind project in 2025 to reach a Financial Investment Decision. Construction is scheduled to commence in early 2026, with full operations targeted for 2028. RJE Global has been engaged as one of Tilt’s key contract partners, responsible for delivering the electrical and civil infrastructure works needed to connect the wind farm to the grid.

Once operational, Waddi Wind Farm is expected to generate enough clean energy to power approximately 68,000 Western Australian households annually. This will prevent roughly 286,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, the equivalent of removing 120,000 cars from the roads each year. The project is also expected to create more than 150 construction jobs and six permanent jobs during operations and deliver more than $3.9 million in community benefit funding over the life of the project.

The multidisciplinary Piper Alderman team, led by Partner Martin Lovell and supported by Anthony Economou (Special Counsel) and Shaun Clifford (Senior Associate), assisted RJE Global and Lighthouse Industries on the balance of plant, joint venture and financier tripartite arrangements, including related arrangements with Symphony Infrastructure Partners.
