Casner & Edwards announces that Alexander N. Macheras has joined the firm as an associate in the Trusts & Estates group. Macheras focuses his practice on advising individuals, families, and business owners on estate planning, tax planning, and trust and estate administration.
Macheras works with clients to prepare comprehensive estate plans including wills, revocable trusts, and advanced planning vehicles such as Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts, and Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts. He also advises on tax-efficient gifting, succession, planning for closely held businesses, and charitable giving strategies. In addition, Macheras prepares and reviews gift, estate, and income tax returns, helping clients remain compliant while minimizing exposure.

Macheras received his J.D. and LL.M. from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. from Boston College. Prior to joining Casner & Edwards, Macheras was an associate at Shipman & Goodwin (formerly Tarlow, Breed, Hart & Rodgers) in Boston.
