Casner & Edwards Attorney Sharon C. Lincoln Presents at 2026 Conference on Representing & Managing Tax-Exempt Organizations

Casner & Edwards partner Sharon C. Lincoln presented the session, “Navigating Attorney General Oversight and Investigations,” at the 2026 Conference on Representing & Managing Tax-Exempt Organizations on April 23, 2026. Lincoln and fellow presenters discussed how to approach an Attorney General inquiry or investigation, the scope of Attorney General authority, and governance and communications considerations in managing an investigation.

Lincoln’s practice focuses on advising nonprofit entities on the wide range of issues related to their tax-exempt status, including formation, funding, governance, executive compensation (including deferred compensation), regulatory compliance, restructuring, international grant making, lobbying, unrelated business income, tax opinions, and mergers & acquisitions. She also represents clients in matters involving the California Attorney General and Franchise Tax Board, the Massachusetts Attorney General and Department of Revenue, and the Internal Revenue Service.

The 2026 Conference on Representing & Managing Tax-Exempt Organizations (TEO), a premier annual event presented by Georgetown Law, continued a more than 40-year tradition of delivering cutting-edge education to leaders, advisors, and professionals in the nonprofit and tax-exempt sector. Attendees heard directly from some of the nation’s foremost experts, covering a wide range of emerging issues.
