Casner & Edwards represented Sturbridge Metallurgical Services, Inc. (SMS), a Massachusetts-based provider of metallurgical, materials and microscopy testing services, in its sale to Phenna Group, a global provider of Testing, Inspection, Certification and Compliance (TICC) services. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Casner deal team included Peter F. Cifichiello, a partner in the firm’s Corporate Group, and Sebastian Estrada, an associate. They advised SMS on all legal aspects of the transaction, from initial negotiations and due diligence through the definitive agreement and closing.
Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, SMS provides accredited technical testing and analysis services to customers in the aerospace and defense, medical device and industrial sectors. Its services help customers verify material performance, investigate failures and meet quality and regulatory requirements.
