Piper Alderman (NSW, Australia) Corporate Partner, Dr Teresa Schafer has been reappointed as a member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) in New South Wales, a position which she was first appointed to by the Governor-General in August 2006.

The AAT is the key body providing independent review of a wide range of administrative decisions made by the Australian government and some non-government bodies. The reappointment of Dr Schafer, who sits on both the General and Veterans Divisions, is testament to her expertise both as a lawyer and as an authority in the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr Schafer commented on her appointment:

The AAT’s role is vital in review of decisions and ensuring fairness for those organisations and individuals affected by those decisions.
