DQ’s Tara Cubbon promoted to Senior Associate

Congratulations to DQ’s Tara Cubbon who has been promoted to the position of Senior Associate within the Dispute Resolution team.

This is a well-deserved promotion for Tara who is making a name for herself acting on high profile and high value commercial litigation, banking disputes and insolvency matters. She appears regularly before the Isle of Man High Court of Justice and the Staff of Government Division.

Tara continues to act, as an integral member of the team, for the Liquidator of various companies within the Louis Group on one of the most complex insolvencies in the Isle of Man. She additionally recently co-authored the inaugural Isle of Man chapter of Getting the Deal Through: Restructuring & Insolvency.

Tara’s practice also includes contentious trust matters, where she is recognised by leading legal directory Legal 500 as a ‘Next Generation’ lawyer. Her employment law practice is expanding, working with Leanne McKeown as part of DQ’s top ranked team. She co-authored The International Comparative Legal Guide to Employment and Labour Law 2017. Clients have described Tara as “innovative and commercially minded” and an “excellent courtroom advocate”.

Giles Hill, Head of DQ’s Dispute Resolution team commented:

“Tara is a highly valued member of our team and this well-deserved promotion comes as a result of her consistent delivery of exceptional service to our clients and her commitment to working as part of team DQ. Tara is becoming widely known for her intellect, hard work and excellent advocacy skills and I have no doubt that she will continue to go from strength to strength as an integral member of our team.”

Tara commented:

“I am delighted to have been promoted to the role of Senior Associate and look forward to continuing to work as part of team DQ to deliver an excellent service to our clients. I am very fortunate to be able to work with a fantastic, supportive team, including all our brilliant support staff, who have all helped me on my journey from Trainee to Senior Associate.”

Tara’s promotion follows that of her colleague Donna Matthews who was promoted to Associate Director last year.
