Cohen & Company is pleased to announce it has established The Ronald B. Cohen Forum on Entrepreneurship and Innovation through the City Club of Cleveland. The endowed Forum honors Mr. Cohen and his lifelong dedication to entrepreneurship, innovation and philanthropy by showcasing the success and service of other business leaders in Northeast Ohio. Established through a generous gift from Cohen & Company, Ron Cohen’s family, and many friends and supporters, the Forum is set to host its inaugural event on May 19, featuring Eduardo Gonzalez, President of Ferragon Corporation.

Mr. Cohen’s dedication to the accounting profession and his advocacy for his clients led him to start Cohen & Company in 1977 with four employees. Today, Cohen & Company is a nationally recognized accounting and consulting firm headquartered in Northeast Ohio with approximately 750 associates in seven states. Known as a trailblazer, champion and mentor, Mr. Cohen built his reputation on a dual passion for providing tax advice and helping entrepreneurial enterprises.

“Ron has had a tremendous impact on the lives of so many people throughout his career, mine included,” says Chris Bellamy, CEO of Cohen & Company. “His unwavering commitment to client service, employees and the community became the foundational principles guiding our firm. He established the path that paved our way to success, and his legacy continues to inspire and set the direction for our firm.”

Mr. Cohen’s reach has been felt throughout the accounting industry and Northeast Ohio, being named “One of the Most Influential CPAs” in the 100-year history of the Ohio Society of CPAs, along with many other accolades. A dedicated voice for private companies, he served as a delegate to all three White House Conferences on Small Business (1980 – 1995).
