Cohen & Company congratulates Tax Senior Manager Tarik Award, who has been chosen by Mahoning Valley Young Professionals as a 2023 25 Under 35 award recipient. The honor recognizes 25 outstanding young professionals who have greatly impacted the Mahoning Valley through the work they do in their careers and the hours they give to not-for-profit organizations.

“Tarik is well deserving of this honor,” says Assurance Partner Lisa Metzinger. "He is a valued team member at Cohen & Company and a trusted adviser to businesses throughout the Mahoning Valley region. We are fortunate to have a young leader like him, who helps us continue to be the firm of choice in the Mahoning Valley.”

Tarik provides tax planning and compliance services to privately held companies and their owners in many industries, focusing primarily on manufacturers and auto dealers. He has also taken an active leadership role in attracting and retaining talent to the firm’s Youngstown office. Tarik has been instrumental in recruiting and in helping to initiate and cultivate relationships with Youngstown State University, volunteering to assist with interviewing, class projects, guest speaking and even helping teach classes.

Additionally, Tarik has taken on leadership roles in his board work with Junior Achievement and in leading the Youngstown office’s team for various volunteer and community involvement activities, such as Youngstown Streetscape and the YMCA Community Cup.
