Browne Craine staff raise £850 for Manx Breast Cancer Support Group

Browne Craine & Co (“Browne Craine”) staff have raised over £850 for Manx Breast Cancer Support Group this October. As part of the charity’s initiative to raise awareness of Breast Cancer on the Island, the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group run a “turn pink for October” campaign which lasts throughout the month.

To raise the money staff organised a fitness class which was run by fellow staff member and professional gym instructor, Amy Killip. Staff took part in a MetaPwr class which is essentially a 30 minute circuit class that combines resistance and bodyweight exercise to target and develop strength, power, agility, and cardiovascular efficiency. Staff also took part in the charity’s Island wide “Pink Day” on Friday 26th October, whereby each staff member wore an item of pink clothing to show support. A small raffle to win some pink goodies was also organised.

The Manx Breast Cancer Support Group has become more than a charity, it is now a powerful entity. Having successfully raised over £1.8 million to build and equip a state of the art Breast Screening Unit at Nobles Hospital, the charity continues to fundraise to ensure that their Breast Unit is of the highest standard.

“As a company we enjoy getting involved in fundraising,” said Amy. “The community is important to us so we like to do our bit to help those people who need it because sadly, so many of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another. The Manx Breast Cancer Support Group do so much great work on the Island, I hope our contribution helps. Thank you to all of the staff who donated to the cause.”

“Well done to all our staff for raising £850 for the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group,” said Craig Mitchell, staff director at Browne Craine. “All our staff are very caring and it’s nice to see them come together for events like this. We do quite a few charity things as a company throughout the year and everyone who takes part finds it very rewarding. Congratulations everyone.”
