Merger Announcement: Fineman West & Co. LLP and Steven L Jager, CPA

We are excited to announce that as of August 1, 2019, Steven L. Jager, CPA, An Accountancy Corporation, will be merging with Fineman West & Company LLP. Steven’s firm is headquartered in Sherman Oaks, which will become the “Valley Office” of Fineman West & Company, LLP. For more than 30 years, Steven has built a strong and vibrant practice in advising businesses and their owners regarding tax planning and compliance, income tax controversy and business strategic consultancy.

The area of tax controversy is his niche area of specialization. In that realm, he passionately represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, Employment Development Department, and the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, as well as the City of Los Angeles in all administrative phases of examinations, appeals and collections. What truly sets him apart, however, is that he is admitted to the Bar of the United States Tax Court, and can litigate a clients’ case, when litigation is necessary. Throughout the entire United States, fewer than 300 non-lawyers are admitted to practice in the Tax Court.

In addition to his admission to the Tax Court Bar, he is a licensed CPA, and has a B.A. Degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Masters Degree in Taxation from California State University, Northridge. Steven is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Federal Bar Association, and is an associate member of the American Bar Association and the California Lawyers Association, where he is a member of the Committee on Tax Procedure and Litigation.

We at Fineman West are continually dedicated to seeing Beyond the Numbers and providing creative and collaborative solutions for our clients. We believe that this merger will contribute to that goal and benefit our clients, and we are honored to have Steven and his staff joining the firm.
