TAG Alliances Welcomes Jamison Firestone as New Advisory Board Member

Law firm leader and human rights activist from FDS Law Ltd. joins Advisory Board of renowned international alliance of professional services firms.

TAG Alliances®, a leading multidisciplinary alliance of independent professional services firms, has appointed Jamison Firestone of FDS Law Ltd. as its newest Advisory Board member. Jamison will join the Advisory Board as a member of its Global Strategy Committee.

TAG Alliances’ Advisory Board is composed of leading practitioners who provide guidance and perspective to the organization’s Executive Team on various matters such as updating the Charter and Code of Conduct, assisting in member matters, and approving prospective members.

Based in London, England, FDS Law is TAGLaw’s exclusive member firm for Russia. In addition to being an internationally recognized lawyer, Jamison has spent more than a decade becoming a human rights activist after the murder of his law partner, Sergei Magnitsky, at the hands of Russian government officials in 2009.

Shortly after Magnitsky’s death, Jamison, along with Magnitsky’s client, Bill Browder of Hermitage Capital, and with the full support of the TAG Alliances community, lobbied various governments to enact the Global Magnitsky Act. The Act's intended purpose is to help deter and police human rights abuses and corruption through visa bans and asset freezes.

“I am honored to welcome Jamison to our Advisory Board” said Richard Attisha, President & CEO of TAG Alliances. “In addition to being a loyal member of TAGLaw for over 15 years, Jamison is a champion of human rights and ensuring justice is pursued for Sergei Magnitsky and other victims of human rights abuses. Jamison’s global perspective and commitment to excellence will be a tremendous asset to our Advisory Board

Commenting on his appointment, Jamison Firestone said: “It’s great to be asked to advise an organisation that has provided me and my firm with so much advice and support over the last two decades.” Said Jamison. “I’m very much looking forward to working closer with TAG Alliances and its membership and look forward to my first Advisory Board meeting at the upcoming International Conference in Chicago.”
