TAG Alliances Hosts Fall 2025 International Conference in Berlin

From October 22-24, 2025, TAG Alliances welcomed delegates from law, accounting, and strategic partner firms around the globe to its 53rd International Conference in Berlin. The conference theme of "Breaking Down Barriers" reflected how the city of Berlin, while once divided, now thrives as a symbol of unity, innovation, and global collaboration. In line with this theme, conference plenary and breakout sessions focused on how professional services firms can break down barriers in today’s rapidly changing world, with topics such as energy disruption, global trade, emerging technologies, and risk management. Throughout the event, attendees also had numerous networking opportunities to build relationships and explore opportunities to collaborate.

The conference began with a Welcome Dinner and Reception featuring an introduction by Host Firms and Principal Sponsors, LPA (Frankfurt am Main, Germany - TAGLaw & TIAG), Rowedder Zimmermann Hass (Mannheim, Germany - TAGLaw), RWP Rechtsanwälte (Düsseldorf, Germany - TAGLaw), and Weiss Walter Fischer-Zernin (Hamburg, Germany - TAGLaw).

The first day of sessions started with an “energetic” and dynamic presentation from energy and finance expert Gerard Reid, who discussed "Entering the Era of Energy Disruption". Drawing on his global experience at the intersection of finance, technology, and energy, Gerard challenged attendees to consider how the convergence of AI, clean energy, and shifting geopolitics reshapes industries and the professional services firms that advise them. During the "Breaking Down Barriers" networking activity, attendees connected on both personal and professional levels through a guided exercise inspired by the unifying legacy of the Berlin Wall and feature Jenga game towers. Following the activity, the Jenga games used were donated to Berlin-based Kinderschutzengel eV (Child Protection Angel). Later, the "Industry Insights Panel: Automotive, Mobility, Energy, and Resources" shared key trends and opportunities shaping these rapidly evolving and critical sectors. To conclude Thursday, attendees and companions gathered at Classic Remise Berlin for a Gala Dinner, surrounded by stunning vintage and cutting-edge automobiles, and watched breathtaking performances from talented artists in a fitting celebration of innovation, history, and connection.
On Friday, Martin Wiesmann of Berlin Global Advisors offered an insightful outlook on the evolving geopolitical landscape in "The ‘Newest’ World Order", highlighting opportunities amid deglobalization, regional power shifts, and strategies for professional service firms advising multinational clients. Later, in a plenary Firm Best Practices & Innovation Specialty Group session on "Future-Ready Firms: Leadership Perspectives on AI Adoption", panelists explored leadership insights on AI integration, covering investment in AI solutions, change management, ethics, and client expectations to help firms navigate this transformative technology.

Specialty Group sessions throughout the conference offered attendees meaningful forums to exchange ideas and dive into important topics spanning various professional service areas. The event concluded on Friday evening with a Networking Dinner held at Berlin’s Arminiusmarkthalle. Attendees enjoyed an evening sampling diverse flavors and connecting with colleagues in the market hall’s vibrant and historic atmosphere.
