Uruguay Launches International Bid for Infrastructure Project

Uruguay’s State-owned water utility, Administración de las Obras Sanitarias del Estado (“OSE”), launched an international public bid for the construction of a dam and ancillary works in the Casupá basin, aimed at advancing a key infrastructure project to strengthen water security for the metropolitan system.

The project involves: (i) execution of the dam works; (ii) supply of the required equipment and materials; and (iii) performance of related technical, environmental, social and operational obligations under the tender documents.

The works will require an estimated investment of approximately USD 130 million and will be financed by CAF - Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The deadline for submission of bids is August 18, 2026.

This international bid represents one of the key infrastructure projects promoted by the current Uruguayan administration.
