New Amendments Affecting Portugal's Financial Sector

Decree-Law no. 18/2013, dated the 6th of February

This diploma transposes into Portuguese legal order (i) partially Directive 2010/78/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 November 2010, amending several directives within the financial sector, in respect of the powers of the European Banking Authority (EBA), the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), also designated «Omnibus I Directive», and (ii) Directive 2010/73/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 November 2010, which amends Directive 2003/71/EC on the prospectus to be published when securities are offered to the public or admitted to trading and Directive 2004/109/EC on the harmonization of transparency requirements in relation to information about issuers whose securities are admitted to trading on a regulated market.
