Lessons from ASIC’s Cyber Security Test Case

On 5 May 2022, the Federal Court declared that RI Advice Group, a holder of an Australian Financial Services Licence , had contravened section 912A(1)(a) and (h) of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) as a result of its failure to have documentation and controls in respect of cybersecurity and cyber resilience in place to manage associated risks.
