Chapman, Simon

Simon is a corporate finance partner specialising in management buy-outs and buy-ins, business sales, acquisitions, finance raising, and valuations advice for owner-managed businesses and management teams.
He studied at Balliol College, Oxford and qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) in 1993. Simon has worked in corporate finance for the last 30 years. He was a key member of Ernst & Young's Private Equity Team after which he joined Baker Tilly (now RSM), where he became a partner and headed up the Birmingham Mergers & Acquisitions Team.
Simon has completed hundreds of transactions across a range of sectors including manufacturing, specialist engineering, automotive, aerospace, healthcare, support services, and information technology.
As a valuation specialist, Simon has completed assignments for a range of purposes including divorce settlements, M&A transactions, shareholder and partner disputes and litigation, management buy-outs, business incorporations, tax planning, share option schemes, and financial reporting. he has experience valuing companies and partnerships, majority and minority shareholdings, goodwill and other intangible assets, and financial instruments including share options an debt securities. Simon has acted as an Expert in Court proceedings and advised on complex valuation matters during litigation processes. He has been appointed by the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales to provide expert determinations under the President's Appointment Scheme.
Simon holds the ICAEW's Corporate Finance Qualification.
